Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Odin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Odin has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Bass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Odin!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Odin or perhaps it was just good defense by Bass which made him look bad.

Bass drives through and clinches with Odin against the cage.
Odin is trying to force a seperation but Bass has the dominant position.
Bass is working for takedown but Odin is calmly controlling the position for now.
Bass is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Odin is trying to break the clinch but Bass has him pressed against the cage.
Bass drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Odin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Odin pulls Bass into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Odin keeping full guard, as Bass tries to pass.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bass wants to control from the top but Odin keeps moving.
Bass advances position into side control!
Odin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bass. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bass trying to control the action but Odin is working from the bottom.
Odin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bass wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bass cracks Odin with a big elbow.

Bass is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Odin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Odin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bass prevents Odin from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bass in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Bass decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like Mike Bass has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bass shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Odin but Odin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Bass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Odin misses with a leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bass looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A combination from Odin does no damage.

Bass dives in and scores a takedown into Odin's guard.
Odin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Odin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bass seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Odin controls Bass momentarily but Bass frees himself.
Bass won't allow Odin to get back to his feet.

Nick Odin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A jab from Odin misses.
Bass ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bass slips under a jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Odin swats away the attempt to clinch by Bass.
Bass fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bass is breathing heavily.
Bass dodges the punch combination from Odin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Bass dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mike Bass's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Odin thuds a left hand into Bass's body.
Odin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bass circles away quickly and effectively.
Odin shoots in and drives through. Bass sprawls well.
Odin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Odin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bass sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Odin somewhat.
Bass is looking to clinch but Odin is avoiding it.
Bass slips a jab and a cross from Odin.
Mike Bass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Odin fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bass throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Odin was covering up waiting for the punch and Bass finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bass gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bass is looking to clinch but Odin is avoiding it.
Nice defenses there by Bass.
Bass shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bass's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Odin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bass scrambles back to his feet.
Odin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Odin attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Odin shoots for a double leg takedown but Bass sprawls well. He's pushed Odin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mike Bass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Odin.

Odin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bass is trying to control Odin's posture but Odin avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Odin wants to stand but Bass is controlling his arm.
Odin working away.
Odin cracks Bass with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Odin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bass taking punishment in the form of punches.

Odin wants to control but Bass is keeping him busy.
Bass manages to get back to half guard.

Odin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Odin working over Bass with some ground and pound. Bass looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Odin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bass moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Odin trying to control but Bass is working from the bottom.
Bass managing to control the position.
Odin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Odin with a nice head shot there.
Bass keeping moving, preventing Odin from controlling successfully.
Odin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Odin throws an elbow that misses. Bass uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Odin's guard. Nice move by Bass!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bass trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bass won't allow Odin to sweep him here.

Nick Odin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Bass tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Odin swivels and escapes.

Bass gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bass misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Odin.
Bass is trying to drag Odin to the mat but Odin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A frustrated look appears on Odin's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Odin is trying to push Bass away but Bass has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Bass prevents Odin from breaking the clinch.
Odin has had enough of the clinch but Bass keeps him there for the moment.
Odin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bass looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Odin's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bass tries to pull guard but Odin forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Bass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Odin wants to break free but Bass has control.
Bass keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Odin's efforts to push away.
Odin is looking to break free of the clinch but Bass has double underhooks.
Bass tries to pull guard but Odin holds him up against the cage and eventually Bass drops back down to his feet.
Odin stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Bass is fighting off a takedown attempt but Odin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bass to the mat. Bass regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Mike Bass overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Odin throws a strike but Bass rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bass wants to pass the guard but Odin is keeping the position.
Odin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Odin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bass passes into side control.
Bass wants to lay and pray for a moment but Odin keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Odin is trying to work for a sweep but Bass has mounted him!
Bass avoids the attempt from Odin to control.

Bass is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Odin to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Odin shrugs it off.
Odin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bass with the ground and pound from mount.
Bass fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bass controlling from the full mount.
Odin tries to reverse the position but Bass maintains control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bass looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Odin is trying to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Bass.
I think Bass has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
