The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tomas Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gunn.
That kick from Gunn tenderised Silva's leg. Silva is trying to keep his angry face on.
Gunn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Gunn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Gunn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silva connects with a body shot.
Gunn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Silva throws a head kick but Gunn moves out of range.

Nice uppercut lands for Gunn. That snapped Silva's head back.

Silva steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn.

Tomas Gunn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gunn misses with a two punch combination.
Gunn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gunn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gunn. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.
Silva dives in and grabs Gunn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gunn pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.

Silva has closed the distance and engaged Gunn in a clinch.
Gunn wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.

Gunn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Gunn manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Silva has his foot on Gunn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gunn works his way back into a safe position though.
