Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Omi Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nebojsa Mihattovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mihattovic is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Geto Boys - Still. Omi Sakurai has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omi Sakurai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nebojsa Mihattovic! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakurai swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mihattovic works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mihattovic, as that shot connected.
Sakurai is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nebojsa Mihattovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mihattovic throws a nice inside leg kick. Mihattovic lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sakurai will feel that in the morning. Mihattovic shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakurai sprawls well. He's pushed Mihattovic's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Good exchange - Sakurai coming out on top. Mihattovic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mihattovic throws a lazy body kick and Sakurai decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mihattovic's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Sakurai keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mihattovic's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mihattovic can't keep his opponent in guard - Sakurai advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mihattovic gets full guard. Sakurai postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sakurai accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mihattovic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mihattovic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sakurai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sakurai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mihattovic wants to sweep but no luck. Sakurai missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sakurai postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sakurai with a nice head shot there. Mihattovic wants to sweep here but Sakurai controlling him for the moment. Mihattovic controls Sakurai momentarily but Sakurai frees himself. Sakurai wants to control from the top but Mihattovic keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mihattovic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sakurai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mihattovic prevents Sakurai from improving his position. Sakurai blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mihattovic. Sakurai wants to control but Mihattovic is keeping busy.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mihattovic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sakurai's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mihattovic scoring with strikes to the body and head. Mihattovic thows a huge punch but Sakurai dodges it nicely.
Sakurai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sakurai working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mihattovic. Sakurai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mihattovic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakurai swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sakurai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mihattovic working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sakurai's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mihattovic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sakurai looking for a sweep. Not yet Sakurai, not yet. Mihattovic throws a strike but Sakurai rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sakurai has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mihattovic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sakurai is one step ahead there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sakurai tries to free his leg and advance position but Mihattovic is retaining full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mihattovic throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sakurai escapes and throws Mihattovic's legs to the side, diving into side control! Mihattovic is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nebojsa Mihattovic will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sakurai takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Mihattovic avoids a punch combination nicely.

A decent looking cross lands there for Mihattovic.
It looks like Omi Sakurai has been cut. Mihattovic shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Sakurai throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mihattovic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sakurai swivels and escapes. Good work by Sakurai as he checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sakurai swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mihattovic counters with a leg kick. Mihattovic takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Mihattovic slips a jab from Sakurai. Mihattovic takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A looping hook to the body misses from Sakurai. Mihattovic does a little dance to reset his feet. and Sakurai connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sakurai tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Mihattovic is able to avoid easily. Sakurai uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Mihattovic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mihattovic works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mihattovic wants to pass the guard but Sakurai is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mihattovic missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mihattovic frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. A nice elbow there by Mihattovic. Mihattovic prevents Sakurai from getting the reversal. Mihattovic cracks Sakurai with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Sakurai is rocked! Sakurai tries to lock up and control but Mihattovic gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Oh Sakurai is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sakurai seems to have got his legs back now. Mihattovic lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mihattovic postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Sakurai badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Mihattovic around the waist but Mihattovic pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Mihattovic is the winner by TKO! Mihattovic jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
