Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, JJ Jung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Angus McTavish!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McTavish pinned against the cage. McTavish gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McTavish misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McTavish wants to clinch up but Jung keeps it at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from McTavish. No joy for Jung on that attempt.
McTavish is looking to land body kicks.
Jung moves in looking to clinch but McTavish pushes him off.
Jung shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McTavish as he avoids it easily.

McTavish moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Angus McTavish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Jung counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for McTavish!
McTavish is squirming around, avoiding Jung's attempts to control the action.

McTavish's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
McTavish tries to lock up and control but Jung gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

McTavish is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McTavish is trying to stand up.

Jung stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Jung is breathing heavily.
McTavish tries to clinch

and Jung counters with a shoot takedown. McTavish fights it but they end up in guard.
McTavish trying to keep a closed guard but Jung is proving a slippery customer.

McTavish keeping moving, preventing Jung from controlling successfully.

Jung looking to sit in guard and control but McTavish gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McTavish wants to control from the top but Jung keeps moving.
Jung is pulling down on McTavish's head. It's preventing any offense from McTavish, at least for the moment.
McTavish passes into half guard.
McTavish is tying to control. Jung wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McTavish avoids the head kick by Jung.

Jung tries to keep at a distance but McTavish has taken the fight into the clinch.
McTavish throws a knee to the head but misses.

McTavish has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jung avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jung wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McTavish has him pressed against the ropes.
Jung tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
McTavish lands a knee to the head.
McTavish is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jung is keeping busy.
Jung is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

McTavish pulls guard.
Jung won't allow McTavish to sweep him here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jung postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jung has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McTavish is proving hard to escape from.

McTavish scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Jung closes the distance and clinches up with McTavish, looking for a takedown. Jung pushes McTavish against the ropes but McTavish circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jung tries to pull guard but McTavish won't allow it.

McTavish is fighting to break Jung's control of his arms but Jung is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McTavish is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jung has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McTavish is looking to defend but Jung has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McTavish! Jung pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McTavish taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). JJ Jung!
