Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafal Dabrowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rafal Dabrowski!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Reed!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dabrowski.
Dabrowski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Reed moves to clinch but Dabrowski breaks away

and Dabrowski holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dabrowski scores with a shot to the side of Reed's head.

Dabrowski tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
With the fighters up against the cage, Dabrowski throws an elbow but misses.
Dabrowski is pushing Reed up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Dabrowski is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reed is defending well for now.

Reed is trying to maintain a safe position but Dabrowski gets an underhook and turns Reed into the cage.

Reed tries to clinch up but Dabrowski circles away and keeps his distance.

Reed leaves Dabrowski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rafal Dabrowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reed doesn't manage to clinch there - Dabrowski circles away.
Reed goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Reed rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dabrowski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sloppy strikes from Reed. Those never looked like landing.
Reed fails to land with a series of punches.
Dabrowski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Reed gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Reed throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dabrowski throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dabrowski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Dabrowski forces Reed back against the cage and clinches.
Reed prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dabrowski lands a shoulder strike.
Reed trying to stall but Dabrowski improves his position.

Dabrowski turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Dabrowski misses with the ground and pound.
Dabrowski fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
You can see the frustration on Reed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Reed might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dabrowski kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dabrowski has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Reed is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dabrowski yanks on the arm and Reed is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dabrowski.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rafal Dabrowski!

After winning the bout, Rafal Dabrowski thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
