The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basaev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
David shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice sprawl there from Basaev as David shoots in.
A looping hook to the body misses from Basaev. David does a little dance to reset his feet.
Basaev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from David.
Basaev tries to score with a low kick but David moves his leg out of the way.
David looks to clinch
and Basaev counters with a straight right hand.
Basaev defends well against a solid takedown attempt from David.
Shamil Basaev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tristan David.
Left hook, right uppercut from Basaev.
Basaev lands with a big right hook that stumbles David - he's out on his feet here! Basaev follows up with another monster hook that separates David from consciousness! David falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Basaev stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
