The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cornish's waist but Cornish gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cornish.

and Cornish counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Cornish lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Cornish is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Brown doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cornish.

Cornish pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Brown is bucking up trying to escape but Cornish cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Cornish is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brown shrugs it off.

Cornish has hold of Brown's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brown manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown is wriggling around trying to escape.
Brown bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Cornish pulls Brown in close to his closed guard and prevents Brown from doing any damage or advancing position.

Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cornish swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brown drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cornish dives on top into guard.
Cornish wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Cornish from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cornish can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cornish pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brown is keeping the position for now.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jeremy Cornish.
I think Cornish has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
