Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Pynchon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Bullock! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bullock connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pynchon's hands.
It looks like Thomas Pynchon has been cut. Pynchon misses with the combination.
Bullock swings for the body but Pynchon moves out of range.
Pynchon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pynchon swings and misses with a shot to the body and Bullock counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice jab there from Bullock. Pynchon takes a swing at Bullock's ribcage but misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pynchon shoots in but no luck this time. Bullock checks the leg kick nicely there.
Bullock connects with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pynchon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bullock sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pynchon somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Pynchon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bullock slips under a jab from Pynchon. Bullock throws a jab when Pynchon was well out of range. Bullock dodges the punch combination from Pynchon.
Pynchon scores a takedown into full mount! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bullock blocking the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bullock tries to hold on but Pynchon pushes him away. Bullock is trying to escape the mount.
Pynchon wants to control the pace but Bullock is squirming around nicely. Pynchon thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Pynchon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pynchon scoring with strikes but Bullock is staying in there. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The referee warns Bullock that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bullock is rocked! Pynchon postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Bullock badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Pynchon around the waist but Pynchon pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Pynchon is the winner by TKO! Pynchon jumps onto the ropes and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Pynchon! Thomas Pynchon seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
