Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between martin louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and james kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). kent has chosen i can ride my bike with no handlebars as his entrance music. james kent is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, martin louis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, james kent!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
louis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
louis is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
kent is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
louis misses with a knee strike.
kent wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but louis has him pressed against the cage.
louis breaks from the clinch.
louis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. louis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
louis wants to sweep here but kent controlling him for the moment.
kent wants to pass the guard but louis is keeping the position.
kent really doesn't want to stay on the ground with louis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
louis tries to land a sweep but no joy.

louis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
louis wants to sweep here but kent controlling him for the moment.
kent looking to sit in guard and control but louis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
louis looking to pass the guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
kent controls louis momentarily but louis frees himself.
louis trying to control but kent is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
louis wants to pass the guard but kent is keeping the position.

louis stands up from kent's guard - louis perhaps looking for a knockout.
louis is breathing heavily.
kent throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
kent tries to close the distance and clinch but louis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and louis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
martin louis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
kent shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says louis as he avoids it easily.
kent blocks a head kick by louis.
A nice inside leg kick there by louis. That's going to slow kent down.
louis closes the distance and clinches.
louis landing some nice looking knees to the body.
kent jumps guard.
louis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
louis wants to control from the top but kent keeps moving.
louis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on kent, up you get!

louis clinches but kent breaks the clinch
and kent counters with a single leg into guard. louis didn't expect that.

louis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for kent!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
kent manages to regain half guard. Good work.
louis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but james kent will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
kent thuds a left hand into louis's body.
louis tries to clinch there but kent circles away.
kent throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like martin louis has been cut.
kent closes the distance and clinches.
kent wants to get back to striking at distance but louis won't allow it.
louis lands an elbow inside that kent shrugs off.
kent tries to pull guard but louis holds him up against the cage and eventually kent drops back down to his feet.
kent wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
kent can't get the takedown.
kent tries to break the clinch but louis is controlling the position.
louis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but kent has him pressed against the cage.
kent manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
kent keeping moving, preventing louis from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
kent keeping full guard, as louis tries to pass.
kent looking to control but louis passes into half guard.

kent has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. louis is working away from the top position though.
kent is in trouble now - louis has advanced to mount!
louis jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but kent manages to avoid the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
louis wants to control but kent is keeping him busy.
kent tries to control but louis manages to take his back.
louis working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

louis is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. kent is defending well though. louis let's go of the attempt for now.

louis controlling well, preventing kent from escaping the position.
louis throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Can kent hold on?! louis is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
louis is persistently looking for the submission but kent is defending it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
kent finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
kent fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
louis looks to clinch
and kent counters with a nice double leg into side control. louis won't be happy with that.
louis sneaks back into half guard.
kent is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, louis has managed to free his arm - good work.
louis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for louis.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
louis trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

louis keeping moving, preventing kent from controlling successfully.
kent not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
louis tries to land a sweep but no joy.
kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. louis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
louis wants to get back to his feet but kent passes into half guard.
kent wants to free his trapped foot but louis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
kent tries to clinch but louis moves out of range.
louis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
louis has hold of kent's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! kent tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - louis cranks the arm and kent screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from kent, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
