Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piki Hoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Duffee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Piki Hoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Todd Duffee!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duffee avoids the head kick by Hoki.
Hoki pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Duffee lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hoki backs up against the cage.
Duffee swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hoki.
Duffee scores with a jab to the jaw.
Duffee takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Duffee fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Duffee misses with the combination.
Duffee misses with a two punch combination.
Duffee lands a nice hook to Hoki's body. Hoki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hoki throws a head kick but Duffee moves out of range.
Duffee misses with a series of wild punches.
Hoki shoots in but Duffee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Duffee closes the distance but Hoki moves to the side
and Hoki counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Todd Duffee has been cut.
Duffee should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Duffee leaves Hoki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Duffee misses with a double jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Duffee counters with a three punch combo that has Hoki backing up. Hoki nods at Duffee to acknowledge the strikes.
Duffee shoots in for a double leg but Hoki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hoki feints and then cracks Duffee's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Duffee down.
Todd Duffee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duffee looks gassed!
Duffee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hoki is fending him off so far but Duffee persists. Nope, Hoki circles away and we're back to standing.
Piki Hoki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Todd Duffee.
Duffee throws a series of punches but Hoki avoids them all with ease.
Hoki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Duffee tries to keep at a distance but Hoki has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hoki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Duffee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Duffee tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Hoki pushes Duffee up against the cage in a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hoki breaks from the clinch.
Hoki misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoki gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hoki looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hoki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sloppy strikes from Hoki. Those never looked like landing.

Duffee gets tackled into the cage by Hoki. Hoki maintains the clinch.

Hoki breaks the clinch.
Hoki shoots in for a double leg but Duffee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hoki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duffee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Duffee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hoki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Duffee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hoki moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hoki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hoki has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duffee tries to clinch there but Hoki circles away.
No joy there for Duffee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hoki tries to move into range but Duffee moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Duffee tries to clinch up but Hoki circles away and keeps his distance.
Duffee lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Hoki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Duffee.
Duffee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Duffee dodges the punch combination from Hoki.
Duffee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoki swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice sprawl there from Hoki as Duffee shoots in.
Hoki throws a right and a left that Duffee avoids nicely.
Duffee scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Duffee moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hoki on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Duffee tries to clinch up but Hoki circles away and keeps his distance.
Duffee tests Hoki's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Duffee scores with the left hand. Hoki knows he should have avoided that one.

Duffee gets tackled into the cage by Hoki. Hoki maintains the clinch.

Hoki breaks the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoki tries a head kick but it misses.
Duffee closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hoki counters with an outside leg kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hoki circles away from the clinch attempt.
A left and a right from Duffee both land. Nice combination.
Duffee is working the combinations to good effect here.
Duffee misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piki Hoki dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Todd Duffee's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hoki circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hoki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Duffee. That did some damage!
Hoki lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Duffee goes down and covers up as Hoki starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Piki Hoki!
