Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinicius Escobar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tap Them! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escobar tries to bum rush Them with a series of wild strikes but Them uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Escobar throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Escobar scores with a one two! Them had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Escobar scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Escobar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Escobar throws a series of punches but Them moves out of range. Them shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Escobar pinned against the cage. Escobar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Escobar looks to land a combination but Them avoids it well. Vinicius Escobar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Them showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Escobar.
Them shoots in looking for a takedown. Escobar tries to sprawl out of it but Them keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escobar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sloppy strikes from Escobar. Those never looked like landing. Escobar slaps away a takedown attempt from Them, before circling back to the center of the mat. Vinicius Escobar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tap Them. Them showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Escobar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Escobar.
Them feints and as Escobar raises his hands in defense, Them changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Them wants to pass the guard but Escobar is keeping the position. Them drops back looking for a leg! Escobar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Escobar manages to kick Them off! Them jumps back into Escobar's guard. Them drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Them jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Them is pushing down on Escobar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Escobar is fighting to maintain full guard but Them has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Them is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Escobar is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
