Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markwick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gualco manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Markwick connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A head kick from Markwick lands but Gualco takes it in his stride.
Gualco shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Markwick defends it nicely.
Markwick fails with the takedown
so Gualco counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gualco tries to free his leg and advance position but Markwick is retaining full guard.
Gualco lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gualco trying to control but Markwick is working from the bottom.
Gualco missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Markwick working a defensive guard but Gualco passes into half guard.
Markwick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gualco.
Markwick is defending against the submission attempts here by Gualco.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gualco wants to free his trapped foot but Markwick is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gualco misses with a head shot. Markwick uses the momentum to regain guard.
Gualco makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gualco lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Markwick wants to sweep but no luck.
Gualco is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Gualco stands up over Markwick, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gualco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gualco is working Markwick over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Markwick is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gualco cracks Markwick with a solid left hand.
Markwick is still in real trouble! Can Gualco finish him?

Gualco content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gualco slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Gualco scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Markwick is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gualco can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
