Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sinjo Sakamaki!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schwensen looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Schwensen wants to control from the top but Sakamaki keeps moving.

Schwensen works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakamaki is looking to control Schwensen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sakamaki avoid being mounted?
Schwensen trying to mount his opponent but Sakamaki defends it.

Schwensen seems to be looking for submissions.
Sakamaki won't allow Schwensen to pass to mount.

Schwensen is keen to just control but Sakamaki is a slippery customer.
Schwensen is controlling the pace.
Sakamaki is trying to maintain the position but Schwensen is very close to passing his half guard.
Schwensen passes the guard and advances to mount!
Schwensen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sakamaki's face.

Sakamaki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schwensen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Schwensen is landing with some decent strikes but Sakamaki is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
