Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Grabowski!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grabowski misses with a straight right.
Grabowski lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dempsey at a distance.
Dempsey takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Grabowski throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dempsey counters with a two punch combo.

Dempsey closes the distance and pushes Grabowski back into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dempsey lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Damian Grabowski has been cut.
Grabowski wants to get back to striking at distance but Dempsey won't allow it.

Dempsey gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Grabowski regains guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Dempsey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dempsey lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dempsey moves nicely into side control.
Dempsey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grabowski keeps working.

Grabowski is pushing Dempsey's head away, looking to escape. Dempsey manages to hold on to the position though.
Grabowski is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dempsey connects with a decent elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grabowski is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dempsey asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grabowski can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dempsey cracks Grabowski with a big right hand but Grabowski just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Grabowski is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dempsey has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Dempsey is keen to just control but Grabowski is a slippery customer.

Grabowski avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dempsey.

Dempsey is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Grabowski looks calm but he's in trouble here. Dempsey gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Grabowski is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dempsey lets go of the hold and Grabowski can pop his arm back in it's socket.
