Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Estep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erek Horton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Estep kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Courageous. Horton has chosen Sandman as his entrance music. Erek Horton will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Estep! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erek Horton! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Estep stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Estep wants it to stay on the feet. Estep fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Horton avoids it really well and circles away. Estep shoots in and gets a takedown into Horton's guard. Estep is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Horton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Estep. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Estep wants to control from the top but Horton keeps moving.
We're going to have a standup here because Brian Estep wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Horton moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horton landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Horton lands a knee to the head.
Horton lands a shoulder strike. Horton lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Horton is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Estep tries to score a body lock takedown but Horton shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Estep is breathing heavily. Estep fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Estep. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Horton lands a knee to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Horton digs a right hand into Estep's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Estep's gas tank. Horton lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Brian Estep has been cut. Horton lands a body punch in the clinch. A short body shot lands from Horton as the two fighters clinch.

Horton lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Horton unloads a knee to the mid-section. Horton scores with a knee to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Estep looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Horton lands a nice knee to the body. Horton connects with a knee to the head.
Estep goes for a takedown attempt but Horton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Erek Horton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Estep but Estep pushes him off and we're back to square one. Estep looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Horton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Estep is trying to defend but Horton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horton is trying to control. Estep wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Estep tries to roll over but Horton keeps him under control. Horton is controlling the pace.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Erek Horton. Horton fails with a takedown attempt from distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Erek Horton dominated that round. The cut man is working on Brian Estep's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Estep throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Horton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Estep is in Horton's guard. Horton looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Horton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Horton wants to stand up but Estep is controlling him. Horton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Estep's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horton postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Estep has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Brian Estep just wasn't active enough. Horton fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Estep misses with a few strikes there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Horton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Estep is fending him off so far but Horton persists. Nope, Estep circles away and we're back to standing. Brian Estep is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck with that takedown attempt from Horton. Estep shoots for a takedown but Horton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Estep. Horton is looking to reverse the position. Estep is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Horton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Horton manages to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horton is not content to let Estep control the position. Horton kicks Estep off and gets back to his feet. Estep misses with a takedown attempt - Horton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Horton feints and as Estep raises his hands in defense, Horton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Horton postures up.
Horton trying to control but Estep is working from the bottom. Horton trying to move into half guard but instead Estep has managed to sweep! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Estep showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Estep is pushing down on Horton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Horton is fighting to maintain full guard but Estep has managed to sneak the leg through. Horton trying to control but Estep postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Horton wants to sweep but Estep has passed to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Estep will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Brian Estep's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Horton with a poor takedown and Estep counters with a nice double leg into side control. Horton won't be happy with that. Horton trying his best to control but Estep has mounted him. Estep is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Horton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horton controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Brian Estep overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Estep working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Horton is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Estep has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Horton taps out!
