PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Knish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knish comes to the cage accompanied by Big Ten Inch by Areosmith. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joey Knish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Lee!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knish shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lee scores with a push kick.
Knish misses with a hook.
Knish lands with a thumping leg kick.
Knish tries a head kick but it misses.
Knish throws the left hand but Lee avoids the punch easily.
Knish is looking to slow Lee down with leg kicks.
Lee throws out a loose jab but Knish uses good head movement to avoid it.
Knish dodges the punch combination from Lee.
Knish throws a hook but Lee blocks it.
Knish throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Knish checks a low kick from Lee.
Lee throws a push kick but Knish slaps the foot to one side.
Knish lands with a nice body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Knish moves away.
Lee lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lee takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Lee checks a leg kick nicely.

Knish on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Knish has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Knish and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lee walks into a stiff left hand from Knish.
Knish misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lee.
Knish tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A low kick from Lee is predictable there
and Knish counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nice defenses there by Lee.
Lee takes one to the chin there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A cross from Knish lands.

Knish clinches with his opponent.
Knish scores with a nice hook to the head.
A short right from Lee on the inside.

Knish wants to get back to striking at distance but Lee won't allow it.
Knish content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Lee goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lee is trying to stall.

Knish is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Knish can't find room to land a body shot as Lee controls the action.

Lee is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Knish creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Knish has a couple of punches blocked by Lee.
Knish trying to control the position but instead, Lee has worked for underhooks and has pushed Knish into the cage.
Knish working hard to break the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee misses with the head strike.
Knish has Lee pushed against the cage.

Lee misses with a series of wild punches.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Knish.
Lee jabs Knish to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Donk. Lee catches Knish right on the button with a cross.
Lee lands a lovely overhand right.
Lee moves out of range of the leg kick from Knish.
Jab, jab by Lee - just one landing.
A head kick misses from Lee.

Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Knish is looking to escape.
Knish might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Knish is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Lee content just to control the position here.
Knish is squirming around, avoiding Lee's attempts to control the action.
Knish is looking to get to half guard.
Lee controlling the pace for now.
Knish in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Knish is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Lee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Knish is looking to escape.
Lee fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Knish is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fred Lee has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Knish is just out of range.

Knish goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lee misses with a double jab.
Knish finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fred Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Knish's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Lee wants to slow Knish down by chopping away at his legs.
Knish takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Knish checks a leg kick.

Lee does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Knish buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lee has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Knish stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
