Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Rahman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gill Mackey! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rahman looks to land a left hand but Mackey moved out of range nicely. Rahman on the wrong end of a nice jab. Rahman checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mackey throws a right and a left that both miss. Mackey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gill Mackey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mackey misses with an uppercut. Rahman saw that one coming. Mackey goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Mackey looks to land a right hand but Rahman moved out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mackey. A left and a right from Mackey both land. Nice combination. Rahman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mackey. Rahman connects with a body shot that sends Mackey's belly button to the back. Mackey connects with a body shot. Nice body punch from Mackey. Mackey cracks Rahman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mackey looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rahman avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mackey uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rahman. Rahman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Mackey misses with a shot to the body letting Rahman counter with a right hand. Rahman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Mackey misses with a combination
and Rahman counters with a one-two to the body. Rahman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mackey.
Rahman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rahman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Rahman. Mackey does a little dance to reset his feet. Mackey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rahman slips a jab from Mackey. Mackey throws a series of punches but Rahman moves out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mackey throws a wild hook but Rahman just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Mackey gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Rahman raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Rahman! Carlos Rahman very nearly forgot to thank Gilop® amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
