Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlsson has chosen Mayhem as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vitor Liddel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Karlsson! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Karlsson stops Liddel from passing to mount. Karlsson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Liddel's best efforts. Karlsson is trying to get back to full guard. Liddel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Liddel seems to be looking for submissions.
Liddel tries to pass to full mount but Karlsson defends it. Karlsson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Karlsson tries to get to full guard but Liddel has control of the leg. Liddel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlsson landing rabbit punches to the side of Liddel's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karlsson scores a takedown into full mount! Liddel is trying desperately to improve position. Karlsson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Liddel?
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Karlsson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Liddel is surviving well by controlling Karlsson's body position as best he can. Karlsson tries to control but Liddel wriggling away. Liddel keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlsson with a couple of short strikes. Karlsson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Karlsson is working for a guillotine from mount but Liddel frees his head quite easily.
Karlsson looks gassed! Liddel avoids a series of strikes thrown by Karlsson.
Liddel sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Liddel tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Karlsson has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Karlsson cracks Liddel with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Karlsson is standing up, even though he is in mount. Liddel has his takedown stuffed and Karlsson counters with a single leg into guard. Liddel didn't expect that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddel keeping moving, preventing Karlsson from controlling successfully. Liddel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Karlsson is one step ahead there. Karlsson postures up.
Karlsson trying to control but Liddel is working from the bottom. Karlsson passes Liddel's left leg - he's now in half guard. Liddel actively working from the bottom here. Karlsson wants to work for an arm triangle but Liddel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Liddel looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Liddel regains full guard. Nicely done. Karlsson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Liddel had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Karlsson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Liddel Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Karlsson's back instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liddel doesn't have the hooks in and Karlsson manages to turn into his guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Liddel fails with the takedown and Karlsson counters with a shoot takedown. Liddel fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Karlsson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Liddel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Liddel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Liddel is looking to stand up but Karlsson won't let him. Liddel won't allow Karlsson to sweep him here. Karlsson trying to keep a closed guard but Liddel is proving a slippery customer.
Karlsson pulls Liddel in close to prevent any damage. Karlsson controls Liddel momentarily but Liddel frees himself. Liddel works a leg free and moves into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Karlsson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Liddel is working away from the top position though. Karlsson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Liddel pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddel trying to advance position but Karlsson counters by regaining guard. Liddel trying to control but Karlsson is working from the bottom. Liddel wants to pass the guard but Karlsson is keeping the position. Liddel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Karlsson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Liddel is looking to defend but Karlsson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Liddel! Karlsson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Liddel taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). David Karlsson!
