Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyrese Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Mike Hawk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyrese Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Hawk. Those never looked like landing.
Mike Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hawk. Banks does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hawk misses with a left hand

and Banks counters with a single leg into guard. Hawk didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Banks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hawk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Banks drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hawk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hawk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hawk!

Hawk stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hawk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Banks dodges the punch combination from Hawk.
Banks slips a straight right by Hawk.
Mike Hawk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hawk scores with a decent looking hook.
Banks moves out of range of the strikes.
Hawk misses with an uppercut
and Banks counters with a series of strikes. Hawk will be more careful next time no doubt.
Hawk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hawk misses with a right hand
and Banks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hawk misses with a wild combination.
Hawk throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Banks counter with a right hand.
Banks shoots in for a double leg but Hawk sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hawk comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Banks counters with a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Banks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hawk counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hawk throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Banks sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Banks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hawk.
Banks dives in and grabs Hawk's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hawk pushes down on Banks's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrese Banks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hawk.
Hawk misses with a wild body shot.
Hawk misses with a series of wild punches.
Banks swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hawk counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Banks slips a jab from Hawk.
Hawk throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Banks sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hawk needs to keep his hands up - Banks had a free shot at his head there.
Banks misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hawk misses with a double jab

and Banks counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Banks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Banks drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hawk dives on top into guard.

Banks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Banks pushes a forearm under Hawk's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hawk is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tyrese Banks!
Tyrese Banks spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
