The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hertz throws a left and a right that both miss
and Holder counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hertz throws a right hand that Holder ducks under and follows up with a left that Holder also avoids with ease.
Hertz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Holder moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hertz moves in looking to clinch but Holder pushes him off.
Holder moves into the clinch.
Holder is looking to control Hertz's arms but Hertz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Holder has his back to the cage.
Hertz lands a nice uppercut.
Hertz swings wildly with an uppercut but Holder uses good head movement to avoid it.
Holder tries to score a body lock takedown but Hertz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hertz manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Holder working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
