Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Longfellow Deeds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deeds comes to the cage accompanied by Evils Deeds. Nixon has chosen The Upsetters - Dread Lion as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon misses with a hook
and Deeds cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nixon slips under a jab from Deeds.
Nixon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Deeds manages to avoid it.
Deeds connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Deeds throws a hook but Nixon blocks it.
Nixon clinches up with Deeds and pushes him back against the cage.
Deeds blocks a body shot from Nixon.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Deeds.
Nixon misses with a shot to the kidneys.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Nixon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Deeds has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Nixon lands a left hand.
Deeds jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nixon walks away with a smile on his face. Deeds gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nixon stalks Deeds and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Deeds's face. Deeds staggers backwards, shaken.
Deeds takes one on the button.
Nixon throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Nixon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Deeds shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Deeds trying to control the position from guard on top but Nixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Deeds stands and throws Nixon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Deeds is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Deeds throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nixon because Deeds loaded up on that one.
Deeds goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Nixon is on top in guard.

Deeds is looking for a triangle but Nixon pushes his legs off easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Longfellow Deeds will probably get the nod.

Nixon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Deeds connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nixon scrambles back to his feet.

and Nixon counters with an outside leg kick.

Deeds is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Nixon throws a leg kick but Deeds sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nixon throws a push kick but Deeds slaps the foot to one side.
Deeds takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Deeds shoots in for a takedown but Nixon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Deeds on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nixon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Deeds. That did some damage!
Deeds displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nixon throws out the jab.
Nixon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nixon wants it to stay on the feet.

Nixon looks to score with a jab to the body but Deeds is just out of range.
Deeds is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Deeds shoots for a double leg takedown but Nixon sprawls well. He's pushed Deeds's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nixon lands a brutal head kick. Deeds looks out on his feet and Nixon throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

In his post fight interview, Richard Nixon started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
