Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Smith!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davis keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Davis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith wants to stand but Davis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Smith postures up in Davis's guard and throws a big left but Davis blocks it.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smith stands up over Davis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith is sitting in close to Davis's body. Davis has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Smith is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Smith is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Davis.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jon Davis!
Jon Davis spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
