Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Velazquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saku Katsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Velazquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saku Katsumoto! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Katsumoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Velazquez throws a big shot that misses. Velazquez thows a left - swing and a miss! Velazquez lands a jab to the nose. Katsumoto slips a jab and a cross from Velazquez.
Katsumoto drops Velazquez with a left right combo! Katsumoto follows him down to the ground into side control.
It looks like Shane Velazquez has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Katsumoto throwing shots but missing, from side control. Katsumoto tries for a kimura but Velazquez is defending well. Katsumoto throwing shots but missing, from side control. Katsumoto working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katsumoto throwing shots but missing, from side control. Katsumoto looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Katsumoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Velazquez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Katsumoto tries for a kimura but Velazquez is defending well. Velazquez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Katsumoto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Katsumoto wants to control but Velazquez is keeping him busy. Katsumoto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Velazquez, who protects the arm well. Velazquez is trying to get back to half guard. Katsumoto trying to control the position but Velazquez is working away. Katsumoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Katsumoto is working to tighten is grip on Velazquez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Velazquez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Katsumoto is really squeezing tight and eventually Velazquez passes out! Katsumoto breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Saku Katsumoto! Saku Katsumoto seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
