15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Madsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rap Reiplinger! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reiplinger rushes Madsen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Madsen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Madsen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Madsen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Reiplinger blocks a jab. Reiplinger goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Madsen. Madsen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Reiplinger has time to react.
It looks like Rap Reiplinger has been cut. Madsen looks for a takedown but Reiplinger sprawls well. Madsen shoots for a double leg takedown but Reiplinger sprawls well. He's pushed Madsen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunnar Madsen.
