Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Bazinet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Driver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Driver is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerard Bazinet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Driver! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Driver misses with an uppercut
and Bazinet counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bazinet decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Driver misses with an uppercut
so Bazinet counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bazinet chips away with some ground and pound. Bazinet stays in close to Driver's body and controls the position. Driver tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bazinet content to stall in guard here. Bazinet really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bazinet lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bazinet has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bazinet is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Gerard Bazinet just wasn't active enough. Driver swings widly with a right hand
and Bazinet counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bazinet. Bazinet lands a takedown into guard.
Bazinet will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bazinet sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bazinet scoring with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bazinet sitting in guard, not really doing much. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Bazinet lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bazinet drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Bazinet as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Driver screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Bazinet! Nice submission victory there!
