PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Chankin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralf Krause (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chankin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is medieval battle. On his way into the cage it seems that Andre Chankin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andre Chankin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andre Chankin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ralf Krause!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krause tries to clinch but Chankin moves out of range.
Chankin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Chankin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Krause is trying to defend but Chankin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Chankin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Krause pinned against the cage. Krause gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Krause drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chankin dives on top into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Chankin will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Krause closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chankin did well to prevent Krause getting side control.
Krause is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Krause is trying to work for a kimura but Chankin is defending well.

Chankin is refusing to be controlled, as Krause sits in half guard.
Chankin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Krause is working away from the top position though.

Krause seems to be working for a kimura but Chankin defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Krause perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Chankin regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Krause.
Krause sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chankin's guard.
Chankin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Krause is looking for a kimura here.
Chankin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Krause is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chankin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chankin has escaped and now he's on top!

Andre Chankin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chankin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Krause keeps working.

Krause is trying to control Chankin's posture but Chankin avoids it.
Krause is looking to reverse the position.

Krause flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Chankin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Krause sees it coming and defends easily.

Chankin winds up and cracks Krause with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Chankin passes the guard and advances to mount!
Krause is trying desperately to improve position.
Chankin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Krause is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Chankin is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Chankin stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Chankin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Krause circles away.

Krause is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chankin is aware though and is defending well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Krause manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Chankin is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
