Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Skjelbred!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Blimm!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skjelbred lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Blimm tries for a takedown but Skjelbred sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Blimm misses with a low kick.
Blimm misses with a leg kick.
Blimm connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Skjelbred shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Blimm shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Skjelbred defends it nicely.
A head kick misses from Blimm.
Skjelbred avoids the body shot from Blimm.
Skjelbred fails with an attempt to clinch.
Skjelbred really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Skjelbred fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blimm, pushing him back against the cage.
Blimm has Skjelbred pressed against the cage, preventing Skjelbred from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Skjelbred is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Blimm is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Skjelbred is defending well.
John Skjelbred has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Blimm.
Blimm tries to circle away but Skjelbred has him pinned against the cage.

Skjelbred looking to stall.
Blimm lands with a short shot to the head.

Skjelbred escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Skjelbred tries to clinch but Blimm moves out of range.
Skjelbred fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Skjelbred blocks the body kick.
Skjelbred wants to clinch.

Blimm shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Blimm is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Blimm throws a strike but Skjelbred avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Blimm throwing strikes but missing.

Skjelbred has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blimm can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Skjelbred is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Skjelbred wants to improve his position but instead Blimm has moved into half guard.
Skjelbred gets full guard.

Skjelbred has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blimm can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Blimm wants to pass the guard but Skjelbred is keeping the position.

Skjelbred avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Blimm trying to control the position from guard on top but Skjelbred is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Skjelbred seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Blimm is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Blimm drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Skjelbred dives on top into guard.
Blimm keeping moving, preventing Skjelbred from controlling successfully.

Skjelbred has gone for a leg lock! Blimm slips out almost immediately though and dives into Skjelbred's guard.
Blimm trying to control but Skjelbred is working from the bottom.

Blimm is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Skjelbred is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Skjelbred has escaped and now he's on top!
Blimm manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Skjelbred manages to get himself to full guard.
Blimm won't allow Skjelbred to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blimm throwing strikes but missing.
Blimm wants to control from the top but Skjelbred keeps moving.

Blimm postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Skjelbred is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Blimm, into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bobby Blimm will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Blimm fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Skjelbred avoids it really well and circles away.
Skjelbred fails in his attempt to clinch.

Skjelbred clinches up with Blimm and pushes him back against the cage.
Skjelbred stops a takedown attempt from Blimm.
Skjelbred lands a nice knee to the body.
Nice body punch from Blimm - that landed with a thud.
Blimm has Skjelbred pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Skjelbred manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
John Skjelbred has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Blimm.
Blimm blocks an uppercut.
Skjelbred wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Blimm looking for a takedown.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Skjelbred pushes Blimm back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Skjelbred avoiding damage as Blimm throws knees to the body.
Skjelbred is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Blimm managing to block the knees to the body from Skjelbred.
Blimm wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Blimm stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Come on Skjelbred - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Blimm wants to get back to full guard.

Blimm is trying to control Skjelbred's posture. Skjelbred takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Blimm! Skjelbred is rotating here... this could be the end... Blimm is out! Skjelbred has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
