Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ou is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Advance On. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ou moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut.
Werdum shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ou connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Werdum shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ou's guard.
Ou is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Werdum content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Werdum will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ou wants to stand but Werdum is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ou can do anything to dispel that myth.
Werdum loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Ou is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Werdum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Werdum postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Werdum is pushing down on Ou's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ou is fighting to maintain full guard but Werdum has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ou really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Werdum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Joe Ou has been cut.

Werdum fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That has opened up Joe Ou's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The cut above Joe Ou's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Ou's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

In his post fight interview, Fabricio Werdum started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
