The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Santos moves out of range of the body kick.
De Santos tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bot counters with an inside leg kick.
Bot misses with a wild body shot.
De Santos tries to clinch up but Bot circles away and keeps his distance.

Bot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bot wants to control but De Santos is keeping him busy.
De Santos gets back to full guard.
Bot missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bot stopping the sweep attempt from De Santos.

De Santos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bot is one step ahead there.

De Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bot doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bot loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now De Santos is on top in guard.

Bot is looking for a triangle but De Santos pushes his legs off easily.
De Santos lands a couple of decent looking shots.
De Santos wants to control from the top but Bot keeps moving.
De Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bot lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for De Santos!

Bot can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as De Santos is looking to escape.

Bot is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

De Santos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bot lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
De Santos manages to get to full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

De Santos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Bot has his foot on De Santos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De Santos works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bot cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Thiago De Santos's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
