Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Tapout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dardadan Kakadan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Tapout!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dardadan Kakadan!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tapout gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kakadan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tapout throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Tapout working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kakadan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kakadan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kakadan wants to work for an arm triangle but Tapout is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kakadan is working for an americana but Tapout has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Kakadan was thinking about the submission.

Tapout looking for a guillotine here but Kakadan defends easily.

Tapout is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kakadan is aware though and is defending well.

Tapout has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kakadan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kakadan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tapout swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tapout not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kakadan drops back looking for a leg! Tapout is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tapout manages to kick Kakadan off! Kakadan jumps back into Tapout's guard.

Tapout looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Tapout keeping full guard, as Kakadan tries to pass.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kakadan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tapout looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tapout looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tapout!

Kakadan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tapout's best efforts.

Tapout is pushing down on Kakadan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kakadan is fighting to maintain full guard but Tapout has managed to sneak the leg through.

Tapout is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Tapout is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kakadan is just riding it out for now. Tapout eventually gives up the hold.

Tapout wants to pass the guard but Kakadan is defending well.
Tapout frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kakadan is looking to get to half guard.
Kakadan is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Tapout thowing shots but they're missing.
Tapout wants to take Kakadan's back here but Kakadan is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Tapout will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tapout throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kakadan because Tapout loaded up on that one.
Kakadan is working to get back to half guard.

Tapout is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kakadan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kakadan is looking to get to half guard.

Kakadan is controlling an arm, preventing Tapout from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Tapout has hold of Kakadan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kakadan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kakadan is desperately trying to improve his position but Tapout has a good base and remains in mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kakadan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tapout just misses with a punch to the body.
Tapout moves out of range as Kakadan strikes.

Tapout moves into range and clinches up with Kakadan.
Kakadan has Tapout pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tapout manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Tapout's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kakadan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tapout sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Tapout moves into the clinch.
Tapout tries to break the clinch but Kakadan is controlling the position.

Kakadan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tapout is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tapout has escaped and now he's on top!

Tommy Tapout overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kakadan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tapout is one step ahead there.
Tapout loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tapout looking to pass the guard.
Tapout throwing strikes but missing.
Tapout is working Kakadan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Tapout wants to control from the top but Kakadan keeps moving.

Tapout postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tapout pushes down on Kakadan's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Tapout is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kakadan is surviving well by controlling Tapout's body position as best he can.
Kakadan gets back to half guard.

Tapout is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tapout thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Tapout looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kakadan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kakadan looking for a sweep. Not yet Kakadan, not yet.
Tapout works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Kakadan is defending against the submission attempts here by Tapout.

Tapout is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kakadan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tapout pulls his head out easily.
Kakadan manages to get to full guard.

Kakadan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tapout is aware though and is defending well.

Kakadan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tapout stacks Kakadan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tapout!

Tapout is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kakadan is trying to escape and Tapout transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kakadan is forced to tap! Nice work there by Tapout! Very nice indeed!
