Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Meredith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Malcolm Hopkins!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meredith lands with a straight right. Hopkins didn't see that one coming.
Hopkins scores with a decent looking hook.
Hopkins fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Meredith is out of range.
Justin Meredith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Hopkins tenderised Meredith's leg. Meredith is trying to keep his angry face on.
Meredith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hopkins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Meredith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hopkins sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hopkins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hopkins showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hopkins prevents Meredith from improving his position.
Hopkins tries to pass the half guard into mount. Meredith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hopkins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Meredith manages to get to full guard.
Hopkins stopping the sweep attempt from Meredith.
Hopkins trying to control but Meredith is working from the bottom.

Hopkins looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Meredith throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hopkins distracts Meredith with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hopkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meredith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hopkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Meredith controls Hopkins momentarily but Hopkins frees himself.
Hopkins wants to pass the guard but Meredith is keeping the position.
Hopkins works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meredith is looking to improve his position.
Meredith looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hopkins trying to control the action but Meredith is working from the bottom.
Meredith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hopkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hopkins's back!
Hopkins tries to roll but Meredith sticks to his back.
Meredith is cranking Hopkins's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hopkins! He's tightened the choke and Hopkins is tapping out!
