Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smarky Malarkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Hashimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Malarkey might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to LL Cool J -- Momma said knock you out.. Hashimoto has chosen Chopin's Funeral March in B flat minor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Malarkey lands a jab to the nose.
Smarky Malarkey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hashimoto tries to close the distance and clinch but Malarkey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Malarkey connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Smarky Malarkey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malarkey fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hashimoto looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hashimoto shoots in looking for a takedown. Malarkey tries to sprawl out of it but Hashimoto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Malarkey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Malarkey throws a hook but Hashimoto blocks it.
Malarkey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hashimoto.

Malarkey sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Malarkey is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Hashimoto pulls his head out easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Malarkey keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malarkey srikes from the bottom but he's lost position and has given up his back.
Malarkey manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hashimoto's guard. Nice work there by Malarkey.

Hashimoto wants to sweep here but Malarkey controlling him for the moment.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Malarkey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hashimoto tries to clinch there but Malarkey circles away.
Hashimoto dodges the punch combination from Malarkey.
Malarkey looks to score with a jab to the body but Hashimoto is just out of range.
Hashimoto bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hashimoto throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Malarkey.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hashimoto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hashimoto looking to sit in guard and control but Malarkey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hashimoto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hashimoto lands in his opponent's guard.
Malarkey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hashimoto manages to get himself to full guard.
Hashimoto can't keep his opponent in guard - Malarkey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
