Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafal Piotrowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Wallace! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace blocks a head kick by Piotrowski.
Wallace closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Piotrowski to the mat! Piotrowski manages to get full guard. Piotrowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground. Piotrowski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wallace is controlling him. Piotrowski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Piotrowski being controlled here, momentarily. Piotrowski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Wallace advances position into side control! Wallace controls the position from side control. Wallace thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Piotrowski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Piotrowski is looking for a sweep. Wallace looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace tries to move to mount but Piotrowski blocks the move with his legs. Wallace looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wallace is trying to move to mount but Piotrowski reverses beautifully and ends up in Wallace's guard. Piotrowski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard. Piotrowski wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Piotrowski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Piotrowski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Piotrowski won't allow Wallace to sweep him here. Wallace looking for a guillotine here but Piotrowski defends easily.
Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Piotrowski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wallace looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace has an active guard here but Piotrowski has managed to pass into half guard.
Wallace has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Piotrowski is working away from the top position though. Wallace is trying to control but Piotrowski manages to pass to mount!

Piotrowski is breathing heavily. Piotrowski controlling his opponent. Piotrowski prevents Wallace from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Wallace dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wallace avoids a punch combination nicely.
Piotrowski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wallace tries for a takedown but Piotrowski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wallace has a takedown stuffed. Rafal Piotrowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Wallace. Wallace shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Piotrowski's guard. Piotrowski looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wallace looking to sit in guard and control but Piotrowski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Piotrowski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Piotrowski passes into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace gets back to full guard.
Wallace isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Piotrowski stacks Wallace on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Piotrowski! Wallace is looking to regain half guard here but Piotrowski keeps moving and retains side control. Wallace is trying to control Piotrowski's posture but Piotrowski avoids it. Wallace takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wallace manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace gets back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Piotrowski's guard. Piotrowski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wallace is one step ahead there. Wallace drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Piotrowski dives on top into guard. Piotrowski trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Piotrowski escapes and throws Wallace's legs to the side, diving into side control! Piotrowski scores with a couple of short elbows. Wallace is looking for a sweep. Piotrowski tries to advance to mount but can't. Wallace is trying to improve his position. Piotrowski wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wallace has control of an arm but Piotrowski manages to advance to Piotrowski's back! Wallace staying busy and making it hard for Piotrowski to control. Piotrowski doesn't have the hooks in and Wallace manages to turn into his guard.
Wallace trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Piotrowski tries to clinch but Wallace moves out of range. Piotrowski has taken the fight to the clinch.
Piotrowski lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Piotrowski has Wallace pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Piotrowski pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wallace tumbling to the mat - Piotrowski dives into Wallace's guard. Piotrowski postures up.
Piotrowski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Chuck Wallace will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Piotrowski misses with a double jab.
Piotrowski shoots in and bounces Wallace off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wallace is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Piotrowski frees his head nicely. Oh but Wallace has switched to an armbar! Piotrowski is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
