The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Brookes.
Brookes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
An inside leg kick lands from Brookes.
Gracie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Brookes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Gracie checks a leg kick nicely.
Brookes throws a big shot that misses.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Brookes.
Gracie checks a low kick from Brookes.
Brookes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gracie gets the takedown into side control.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie has hold of Brookes's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Brookes seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Brookes is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Brookes is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
