Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Barker!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barker shoots in and drives through. Five Sixteen sprawls well.
Barker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Five Sixteen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Five Sixteen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Five Sixteen trying to control from half guard but Barker is working away.
Barker trying to control but Five Sixteen postures up.
Barker tries to kick Five Sixteen off but Five Sixteen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Barker is refusing to be controlled, as Five Sixteen sits in half guard.

Barker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Barker is pressing down on Five Sixteen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barker controls Five Sixteen momentarily but Five Sixteen frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Five Sixteen stands and steps away. Barker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Barker pulls Five Sixteen in close to his closed guard and prevents Five Sixteen from doing any damage or advancing position.

Matthew Five Sixteen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Barker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Five Sixteen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Five Sixteen is trying to control Barker's posture but Barker avoids it.
Five Sixteen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Barker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barker wants it to stay on the feet.

Barker moves into the clinch.

Barker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Five Sixteen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Barker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Barker doesn't manage to clinch there - Five Sixteen circles away.
Five Sixteen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Barker wants to clinch up but Five Sixteen keeps it at a distance.
Five Sixteen misses with a series of wild punches.

Five Sixteen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barker's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Barker pushes Five Sixteen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Barker dives in and scores a takedown into Five Sixteen's guard.

Barker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Five Sixteen is fending him off so far but Barker persists. Nope, Five Sixteen circles away and we're back to standing.

Barker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Five Sixteen, pushing him back against the cage.
Barker pushes Five Sixteen back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Five Sixteen tries for a takedown but Barker manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Five Sixteen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Barker manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Barker seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Barker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Five Sixteen defends well.

Barker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Five Sixteen as he jumps to the side.

Five Sixteen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Barker, up you get!

That was a close second round but I would say that Matthew Five Sixteen will probably get the nod.

Barker's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The referee warns Barker that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
