Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Saint Papierz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trikki Texas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saint Papierz looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saint Papierz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trikki Texas!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papierz tries to clinch but Texas is having none of it.
A head kick from Papierz lands but Texas takes it in his stride.
Texas misses with a jab, cross combination.
Papierz tries to clinch there but Texas circles away.
No joy there for Texas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Papierz fails in his attempt to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Papierz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Texas takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Saint Papierz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trikki Texas has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Texas fails to land with a series of punches.
Texas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Papierz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Papierz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Texas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Texas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Papierz to the ground. Texas is now in Papierz's guard.

Papierz tries to clinch but Texas is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Texas throws a right and a left that Papierz avoids nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Papierz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Texas feints and as Papierz raises his hands in defense, Texas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Texas wants to pass the guard but Papierz is keeping the position.
Texas is standing up over Papierz. Papierz looks to escape but Texas dives into side control.

Texas looks up at the clock and then as Papierz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Texas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Texas is staying tight to Papierz's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Texas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Papierz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Trikki Texas was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Texas throws a right hand that Papierz ducks under and follows up with a left that Papierz also avoids with ease.

Texas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Papierz to the ground. Texas is now in Papierz's guard.

Papierz is looking to stand up but Texas isn't so interested in that idea.

Texas is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Trikki Texas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Papierz plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Texas gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Texas stands up and beckons Papierz to join him on the feet.
Papierz doesn't manage to clinch there - Texas circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Texas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Papierz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Texas is in Papierz's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Papierz wants to get back to his feet but Texas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trikki Texas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Texas connects with a nice short shot to Papierz's temple.
