Ata's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, E.S. Posthumus - Unstoppable . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Zeki Ata!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Mutt!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mutt tries to clinch but Ata moves out of range.
Mutt is looking to clinch but Ata is avoiding it.
Mutt tries to clinch
and Ata counters with a low kick, right behind Mutt 's knee.
Mutt misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ata connects with a leg kick. Mutt looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ata thuds a left hand into Mutt's body.
Mutt throws a right and a left that Ata avoids nicely.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ata.
Ata scoring well with a low kick there.
Mutt looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ata lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ata lands with a kick to the ribs.
Ata lands a leg kick that knocks Mutt off balance momentarily.
Ata fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ata lands a body shot.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Ata - that will leave a mark!

Ata throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Ata lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mutt's sensitive parts.
Mutt's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Mutt on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ata. Ata obviously looking to wear him down.
Zeki Ata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ata lands a glancing blow to the side of Mutt's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ata connects with a body shot that sends Mutt's belly button to the back.
Ata ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mutt moves away.
Mutt takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Ata closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ata has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mutt is trying to keep an underhook but Ata manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ata seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mutt for as long as he can get away with.
Ata seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ata looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Ata keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Ata is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mutt is looking to improve his position.
Mutt pushes Ata off looking to stand but Ata dives back in and keeps control.
Mutt trying to hold on to Ata's head to control him but Ata postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mutt can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Ata is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ata trying to pass the guard but Mutt defending well.
Ata is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mutt!
Mutt tries to lock up and control but Ata gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ata prevents Mutt from getting the reversal.
Mutt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ata. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ata lands a heavy elbow.
Mutt is desperately trying to improve his position but Ata has a good base and remains in mount.
Ata with a couple of short strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ata tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ata's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ata cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The referee warns Mutt that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Mutt is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ata loads up with a big shot that hurts Mutt! He's pulled Ata in close but Ata has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Mutt survive? More strikes from Ata and Mutt is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Zeki Ata!
Zeki Ata retains his heavyweight title!
Zeki Ata decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
