Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Botello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Machida might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to For Whom The Bell Tolls. Botello has chosen Candlekeep as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyoto Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Botello!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Botello checks a leg kick nicely.
Machida looks to score with a jab to the body but Botello is just out of range.

and Botello counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Botello.
Botello is trying to drag Machida to the mat but Machida just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Botello is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Botello goes for a takedown attempt but Machida pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lyoto Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Botello.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Botello tries for a takedown but Machida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Botello will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd cheers as Machida lands an impressive looking overhand right. Botello doesn't seem phased though.

Machida throws a sloppy head kick and Botello moves out of range easily.
Machida lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Botello is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
and Machida counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Botello! He's just covering up as Machida starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lyoto Machida!
Lyoto Machida bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
