Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yrjo Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks has chosen Born Ready as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yrjo Pierre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Brooks! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks lands a nice shot to the body.
Brooks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pierre manages to avoid it. Pierre defending well as Brooks loads up on a big left hand. Pierre takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Pierre is rocked! Brooks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pierre as he avoids it easily. Oh Pierre is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pierre shoots in and bounces Brooks off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pierre seems to have got his legs back now. Pierre preventing the sweep. Pierre works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks wants to improve his position but Pierre is controlling well.
Brooks is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pierre pulls his head out easily. Pierre takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks is looking for a sweep. Pierre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Brooks is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pierre landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Brooks is trying to maintain the position but Pierre is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Brooks connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Pierre scores with a push kick. Eric Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pierre fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brooks, pushing him back against the cage. Brooks is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pierre gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Brooks looks gassed! Pierre is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Brooks can't fight it off and eventually Pierre manages to take the fight to the floor. Brooks looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Pierre stops Brooks from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pierre passes into half guard. Pierre tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brooks knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Pierre is thwarting Brooks's attempts to control the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Brooks tries to roll over but Pierre keeps him under control. Pierre landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Pierre is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pierre pulls his head out easily. Pierre with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Pierre seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brooks for as long as he can get away with. Pierre works his way into side control. Brooks is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Brooks manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pierre's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Brooks wants to get back to his feet.
Brooks is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pierre pulls his head out easily. Pierre frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Pierre sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yrjo Pierre dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pierre gets a clinch. Pierre drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brooks pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pierre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brooks's waist but Brooks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pierre off to one side. Brooks tries to clinch up and Pierre counters with a leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pierre counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Brooks had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pierre is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Brooks Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pierre's back instead. Brooks is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pierre is defending well though. Brooks let's go of the attempt for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Pierre bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Pierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Brooks is retaining full guard. Pierre thows a big elbow that misses. Brooks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pierre is one step ahead there. Pierre working some strikes from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Brooks wants to hit a switch here but Pierre passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Brooks there! Pierre content just to control the position here. Brooks tries to reverse the position but Pierre maintains control. Pierre controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks is desperately trying to improve his position but Pierre has a good base and remains in mount. Brooks tries to hold on but Pierre pushes him away. Pierre controlling from the full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pierre cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pierre scoring with strikes but Brooks is staying in there. Brooks is trying desperately to improve position. Pierre postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Brooks looks a forlorn figure.
Pierre controlling the pace for now. Brooks working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yrjo Pierre dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Brooks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Brooks tries to keep at a distance but Pierre has taken the fight into the clinch. Pierre breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Brooks misses with a takedown attempt and Pierre counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pierre stands up and beckons Brooks to join him on the feet. Brooks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Pierre counters with a single leg into guard. Brooks didn't expect that. This has been an exciting period of action! Brooks working a defensive guard but Pierre manages to pass into side control anyway.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Brooks is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Pierre is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Brooks is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Brooks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pierre is trying to keep Brooks in close.
Pierre will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Pierre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brooks's guard. Pierre stays in close to Brooks's body and controls the position. Pierre works a leg free and moves into half guard. Brooks tries to roll over but Pierre keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks is trying to stand.
Pierre content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Brooks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pierre is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Brooks is trying to get back to full guard. Brooks actively working from the bottom here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pierre connects with a high kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pierre takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Yrjo Pierre has been cut. Brooks closes the distance looking to clinch and Pierre counters with a low kick, right behind Brooks 's knee. Brooks throws the left hand but Pierre avoids the punch easily. Brooks shoots in and bounces Pierre off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Brooks drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pierre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pierre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pierre! Eric Brooks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pierre tries to move to mount but Brooks blocks the move with his legs.
And that's the end of the fight! Yrjo Pierre showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pierre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
