Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seth Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bedows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Bedows! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson fails with a takedown attempt. Johnson tries to clinch there but Bedows circles away.
A big left from Johnson misses. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bedows as he jumps to the side. Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Bedows swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson gets the takedown into side control. Johnson throws an elbow but Bedows slips to the side and avoids it well. Johnson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bedows's legs. Johnson trying to control the position but Bedows is working away. Bedows is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bedows manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. It looks like Johnson is going to stand back up.

Bedows is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bedows has a closed guard, preventing Johnson from standing up. Bedows is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson trying to control but Bedows is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bedows lets loose with a powerful body kick. Johnson will feel that in the morning. Bedows closes the distance and clinches. Bedows is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Johnson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Johnson jumps guard but Bedows stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Bedows gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Johnson wants to sweep here but Bedows controlling him for the moment. Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Bedows is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Johnson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bedows wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bedows circles away. Johnson is breathing heavily. Johnson closes the distance but Bedows moves to the side and Bedows counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Seth Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson dodges the punch combination from Bedows.

Horrible takedown by Bedows or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad. Johnson tries to clinch but Bedows moves away and Bedows counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Bedows to acknowledge the strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Bedows dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Johnson instigates a clinch. Johnson jumps guard but Bedows stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bedows throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Johnsons head. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. A body shot lands from Bedows.
Bedows lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. A shot in the inside from Johnson. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Bedows stops a takedown attempt from Johnson.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bedows tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson has a takedown stuffed. Bedows rushes Johnson and presses him up against the cage. Bedows turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Bedows tries to move to mount but Johnson blocks the move with his legs. Johnson is trying to improve his position. Johnson can't do much from the bottom here. Johnson is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bedows advances nicely into full mount. Johnson gets back to half guard. Bedows wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Bedows might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Johnson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Johnson pushes Bedows off and gets back to his feet. Johnson tries to clinch and Bedows decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bedows won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Johnson wants to control but Bedows passes easily into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bedows thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Johnson wants to get back to full guard. Johnson wants to control but Bedows is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bedows is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bedows's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bedows's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bedows covering up well and avoiding damage. Johnson is landing with strikes from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Johnson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The referee is taking a good look at Bedows as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Johnson!

Bedows covering up well and avoiding damage. Even with his hooks in, Johnson manages to miss with strikes from the back. Johnson has the hooks in. Bedows is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Bedows showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Johnson tries to clinch and Bedows counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bedows. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Bedows from controlling successfully. Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson cracks Bedows with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bedows taking shots to the head. Bedows takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Johnson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bedows's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Johnson shoots in and bounces Bedows off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Bedows keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Bedows is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Seth Johnson. Well Bedows has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
