Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evan Hardie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Pewterschmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Hardie enables Pewterschmidt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hardie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Pewterschmidt scoring with punches to the head and body. Pewterschmidt looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Pewterschmidt stopping the sweep attempt from Hardie. Pewterschmidt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Pewterschmidt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hardie tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hardie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pewterschmidt defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pewterschmidt stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hardie wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Pewterschmidt throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hardie was covering up waiting for the punch and Pewterschmidt finishes the takedown easily into guard. Pewterschmidt postures up.
Pewterschmidt's corner is telling him to maintain position. It looks like Pewterschmidt might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Carter Pewterschmidt has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hardie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pewterschmidt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Pewterschmidt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hardie is fending him off so far but Pewterschmidt persists. Nope, Hardie circles away and we're back to standing. Hardie lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hardie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pewterschmidt swivels and escapes. Pewterschmidt should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hardie is breathing heavily. Donk. Hardie catches Pewterschmidt right on the button with a cross. Pewterschmidt is looking to clinch but Hardie is avoiding it.
Pewterschmidt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hardie shoots in but Pewterschmidt avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Hardie. That's going to take a lot out of him. A left and a right from Hardie both land. Nice combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pewterschmidt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Pewterschmidt decides to stand and escape the position. Pewterschmidt is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hardie looks to land a combination but Pewterschmidt avoids it well. Hardie keeps the fight on the outside. Pewterschmidt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hardie paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pewterschmidt scores a takedown into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pewterschmidt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pewterschmidt is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hardie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hardie gives up his back whilst trying to strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A bit of a pause in the action here. Pewterschmidt controlling the positon. Pewterschmidt gets his hands free as Hardie looks to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carter Pewterschmidt dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hardie keeps the fight on the outside. Hardie lands with a kick to the ribs.
Horrible takedown by Pewterschmidt or perhaps it was just good defense by Hardie which made him look bad. Hardie jabs at Pewterschmidt's body. Hardie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pewterschmidt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hardie is in Pewterschmidt's guard. Hardie wants to stand but Pewterschmidt is controlling his posture from full guard. Pewterschmidt keeping moving, preventing Hardie from controlling successfully. Pewterschmidt throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hardie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hardie wants to pass the guard but Pewterschmidt is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pewterschmidt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Evan Hardie. Pewterschmidt is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pewterschmidt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hardie counters with a left to the body. Pewterschmidt fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Horrible takedown by Hardie or perhaps it was just good defense by Pewterschmidt which made him look bad. Hardie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pewterschmidt gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hardie.
Pewterschmidt wants to get back to striking at distance but Hardie won't allow it.
Pewterschmidt is trying to force a seperation but Hardie has the dominant position. Hardie breaks the clinch.

Hardie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pewterschmidt pinned against the cage. Pewterschmidt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Hardie. That's going to take a lot out of him. This has been an exciting period of action! The fight stays on the outside here - Hardie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Pewterschmidt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pewterschmidt tries to clinch but fails miserably and Hardie counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hardie has closed the distance and engaged Pewterschmidt in a clinch.
Hardie has Pewterschmidt pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pewterschmidt manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Pewterschmidt working hard to break the clinch. Pewterschmidt blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pewterschmidt misses with the head strike.
Pewterschmidt jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hardie walks away with a smile on his face. Pewterschmidt gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Pewterschmidt tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Carter Pewterschmidt will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Hardie moves away from the strike by Pewterschmidt. Pewterschmidt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pewterschmidt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hardie is looking to control Pewterschmidt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hardie avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Pewterschmidt stands up from half guard. Hardie lands a head kick!
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hardie throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pewterschmidt. No luck for Hardie with that takedown attempt. Hardie throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pewterschmidt.

Pewterschmidt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pewterschmidt lands in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pewterschmidt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hardie's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hardie trying to keep a closed guard but Pewterschmidt is proving a slippery customer.
Pewterschmidt stays in close to Hardie's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pewterschmidt on the ground. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Carter Pewterschmidt wasn't active enough on the ground. Pewterschmidt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hardie sprawls well initially but Pewterschmidt persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pewterschmidt slips a nice elbow through Hardie's hands, connecting with Hardie's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pewterschmidt looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Pewterschmidt keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hardie trying to control here.

Pewterschmidt takes Hardie's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Hardie is in trouble. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hardie is covering up but some of the strikes from Pewterschmidt are getting through and doing damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pewterschmidt has got one arm under Hardie's chin. This could be trouble... Hardie trying to control the other hand but Pewterschmidt gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Hardie has tapped out! The fight is over!
