Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blake Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kazuyuki Shimizu!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Shimizu is out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Shimizu checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Nash motions for Shimizu to come forward. Nash throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shimizu swings for the body but Nash moves out of range.
Shimizu misses the shot to the body.
Nash keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shimizu.
Shimizu throws a right hand that Nash ducks under and follows up with a left that Nash also avoids with ease.
A low kick from Nash is predictable there
and Shimizu counters with a straight right hand.
Shimizu throws a quick inside leg kick.
Shimizu thows a left - swing and a miss!

Nash takes the fight into the clinch.
Nash throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Shimizu blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A bit of stalling here from Shimizu.
Shimizu avoiding damage as Nash throws knees to the body.
A nice left hand lands by Shimizu.
Nash throws an elbow but it misses.
Nash with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Shimizu lands a right hand that snaps the head of Nash backwards.

Nash loads up on a big right hand but Shimizu slips the punch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shimizu, as that shot connected.

Nash closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


It looks like Blake Nash has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shimizu connects with a nice looking jab.
Shimizu misses with a looping right.
Nash misses with a straight right.
Shimizu scores with a nice strike.
Shimizu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nash was well out of range. Poor timing from Shimizu.

Nash thuds a left hand into Shimizu's body.

Shimizu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nash sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Nash closes the distance and clinches.
Shimizu tries to stall but Nash uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Shimizu takes an elbow to the temple.

Nash pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nash keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nash steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shimizu.

Shimizu tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Nash lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shimizu's sensitive parts.
Shimizu jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shimizu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nash slips a jab from Shimizu.
Shimizu throws a nice looking combination but Nash bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nash lands a nice hook to Shimizu's body. Shimizu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Shimizu takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Kazuyuki Shimizu has been cut.
Kazuyuki Shimizu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nash moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nash misses with a low kick as Shimizu jumps back.
Nash keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shimizu.
Nash dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shimizu. That did some damage!
Shimizu lands with a shot to the body.
Nash closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Nash explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Nash throws out a leg kick but Shimizu moves out of range and Nash only half commits.

Nash uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shimizu.

Nash with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Shimizu scores with a one two! Nash had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Shimizu moves out of range of the leg kick from Nash.
Shimizu throws a low kick but Nash moves out of range easily.
Nash closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Shimizu misses with an uppercut.
Nash throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nash on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Shimizu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shimizu sizes up Nash with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Blake Nash will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nash avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nash walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shimizu checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Shimizu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nash throws a front kick that sends Shimizu stumbling back into the cage.

Nash creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Shimizu's defenses.

A left hand lands to the body for Shimizu.
Shimizu managing to block the knees to the body from Nash.
Shimizu fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Shimizu is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Shimizu throws a head punch that misses.
Nash lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shimizu backwards.
Nash is pushing Shimizu up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Nash seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Shimizu's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Shimizu lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Oh Nash is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shimizu fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Nash square on the jaw! Damn, Nash is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kazuyuki Shimizu!
