Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guto Groos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chong Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Guto Groos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chong Li! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Li tries to clinch but Groos is having none of it. Groos keeps the fight on the outside. Groos has a takedown stuffed. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Groos. Groos looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Li pushes Groos off looking to stand but Groos dives back in and keeps control.
Li is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Groos is working for a submission of some sort.
Groos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Groos prevents Li from standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Groos seems to be working for a kimura but Li defends the submission attempt. Groos is looking for a kimura but Li is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Groos to get the leverage. Groos is breathing heavily. Li tries to kick Groos off but Groos keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Groos is working for a submission of some sort.
Groos wants to pass to mount but Li is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Li works his way to full guard. Good work. Li wants to stand and escape but Groos is having none of it. Groos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Li dives on top into guard. Li slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Li trying to control but Groos is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li wants to get up but he can't break Groos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Li really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Groos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Groos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Groos looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Groos looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Groos keeping full guard, as Li tries to pass. Groos throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Li showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Groos is on top in guard.
Groos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Groos pushes down on Li's leg and manages to get into half guard. Groos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Guto Groos dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Groos blocks a head kick by Li.
Groos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Li as he jumps to the side. Groos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Li's waist but Li gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Groos off to one side. Groos scores a takedown into full mount! Groos looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Groos is working for a guillotine from mount but Li frees his head quite easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Groos is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Li has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Li!
That's one minute gone in the round. Li controls from within his opponent's guard. Groos throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Groos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Groos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Li doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Groos is tightening it up a little... Li has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Li reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Li taps out! nice BJJ there by Groos!
