Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hulohot Yokohama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Okabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Yokohama might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Metallica - All Nightmare Long. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hulohot Yokohama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Okabe!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yokohama lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Yokohama walks into a stiff left hand from Okabe.
Yokohama swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yokohama misses with a leg kick.
Okabe sizes up Yokohama with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Okabe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yokohama.
Okabe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Okabe shoots in but no luck this time.
No joy there for Okabe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Okabe misses with a takedown attempt - Yokohama sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Okabe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yokohama.
A left lands for Okabe.

An inside leg kick from Yokohama misses.
Yokohama keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Okabe.
Yokohama throws a half hearted mid kick.
Okabe pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Yokohama connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Yokohama lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Okabe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Okabe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Yokohama is looking to get to half guard.
Okabe is stalling here but it's allowed Yokohama to get half guard.

Okabe throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Okabe trying to mount his opponent but Yokohama defends it.
Okabe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yokohama's head.
Okabe wants to pass to mount but Yokohama is defending the position.
Okabe is looking to pass Yokohama's guard but actually Yokohama recovers to full guard.
Okabe wants to control from the top but Yokohama keeps moving.

Okabe throws a big elbow that misses.
Yokohama is trying to keep Okabe in close.
Okabe trying to control the position from guard on top but Yokohama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yokohama keeping full guard, as Okabe tries to pass.
Yokohama preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Yokohama keeping moving, preventing Okabe from controlling successfully.

Okabe wants to pass the guard but Yokohama is keeping the position.
Yokohama has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fighters circling - Okabe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yokohama is looking to chop away at Okabe's legs.
Okabe thows a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kenji Okabe dominated that round.

Okabe missing with a left hand there. Yokohama was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice defenses there by Yokohama.
Okabe scores with a nice right hand.
Nice shot lands for Yokohama.
Okabe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Okabe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Horrible takedown by Okabe or perhaps it was just good defense by Yokohama which made him look bad.
Yokohama throws a solid leg kick but Okabe takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Yokohama.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Hulohot Yokohama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Okabe.

Yokohama lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Yokohama throws a big shot that misses.
Okabe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Okabe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Okabe throws a lazy right hand but Yokohama sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yokohama lands a jab to the head.
Yokohama pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okabe misses with a jab to the body
and Yokohama counters with a flying knee. Nice.
An inside leg kick lands from Yokohama.
Okabe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Yokohama eats them both and turns towards Okabe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Yokohama tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Okabe is able to avoid easily.

Yokohama moves out of range as Okabe strikes.
Yokohama misses with a low kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice shot lands for Yokohama.
Yokohama dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Okabe. That did some damage!
Okabe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Okabe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yokohama circles away quickly and effectively.
Okabe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yokohama but Yokohama pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Yokohama attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Okabe misses with a straight left.
Okabe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Okabe throws an overhand right that lands on Yokohama's shoulder, as Yokohama tries to avoid the shot.
Yokohama throws a jab but it's blocked by Okabe.
Okabe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yokohama moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Yokohama keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Yokohama tries to work over Okabe's front leg with a kick but Okabe checks it.
Okabe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yokohama.
Yokohama needs to keep his hands up - Okabe had a free shot at his head there.

Okabe looks to land a right hand but Yokohama moved out of range.
Okabe throws a jab but it's blocked by Yokohama.
Yokohama throws a half hearted mid kick.
Yokohama doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Yokohama looks to land a right hand but Okabe moved out of range.
Okabe takes one on the button.
Okabe takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Okabe connects with a right hand. Yokohama shakes it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Okabe on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Yokohama. Yokohama obviously looking to wear him down.
Nice defenses there by Okabe.
Yokohama throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulohot Yokohama dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Yokohama ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Okabe lands with an uppercut that bounces Yokohama off the cage and back into range.
Okabe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Yokohama to score with a decent uppercut.
Yokohama throws a low kick but Okabe moves out of range easily.
Okabe shoots in looking for a takedown. Yokohama tries to sprawl out of it but Okabe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yokohama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yokohama. Okabe does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hulohot Yokohama is winning the standup battle so far.
Yokohama attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Yokohama moves into range and connects with a jab.
Yokohama lands a leg kick that knocks Okabe off balance momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Some wild striking there from Okabe.
Okabe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Okabe throws a lazy right hand but Yokohama sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Okabe takes a jab right on the kisser.

Okabe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yokohama's guard.
Okabe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Okabe wants to control from the top but Yokohama keeps moving.
Okabe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yokohama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Okabe trying to control the position from guard on top but Yokohama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Okabe is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Okabeis looking to pass into half guard but Yokohama pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Yokohama is in guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kenji Okabe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Yokohama motions for Okabe to come forward. Yokohama throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Yokohama pivots, looking for a leg kick but Okabe is out of range and Yokohama settles back down.
Okabe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yokohama sprawls well. Yokohama wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Okabe gets slowly back to his feet.
Okabe lands a lovely overhand right.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Okabe moves out of range of the body kick from Yokohama.
Yokohama smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Yokohama keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Okabe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Okabe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Yokohama misses with a low kick.
Okabe loads up on a big right hand but Yokohama slips the punch.
Yokohama throws a leg kick but Okabe sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Yokohama lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Okabe has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Okabe and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Okabe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Yokohama does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Yokohama throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Okabe shoots in and drives through. Yokohama sprawls well.
Hulohot Yokohama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Okabe.
Yokohama lands with an overhand left.
Yokohama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Okabe was well out of range. Poor timing from Yokohama.
Yokohama waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Okabe.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Okabe on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Yokohama is looking to slow Okabe down with leg kicks.
Okabe connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yokohama's hands.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hulohot Yokohama.
I think Yokohama has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
