Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dwyane Wade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Davis! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wade feints and as Davis raises his hands in defense, Wade changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Davis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wade trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom. Wade cracks Davis with a solid left hand. Wade has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wade landing some decent shots from guard. Wade with a flurry of punches that miss. Wade chips away with some ground and pound. Wade stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wade slips nicely into half guard. Wade not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wade working the head and body with strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wade missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Davis moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Davis keeping moving, preventing Wade from controlling successfully. Davis doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wade trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wade's guard. Davis wants to control from the top but Wade keeps moving. Davis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Wade not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Davis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Davis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wade utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Davis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Davis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Wade is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wade trying to control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wade is pulling down on Davis's head to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Davis tries to free his leg and advance position but Wade is retaining full guard. Wade looking for a triangle here. Davis is fighting it but it looks tight! Wade pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Davis is tapping out - this one is all over!
