Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joseph D Pistone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azman Hazardi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pistone comes to the cage accompanied by Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream (Remix). Hazardi has chosen Kunnon Mestaan Vetää feat. Elastinen & Spekti as his entrance music. Joseph D Pistone had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joseph D Pistone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Azman Hazardi!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hazardi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Pistone looks to score with a jab to the body but Hazardi is just out of range.
Pistone throws a looping overhand right but Hazardi ducks down to avoid it.
Hazardi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pistone.
Hazardi fails with a takedown attempt.
Hazardi wants to clinch but Pistone slips to the side
enabling Pistone to counter with a crisp jab.
Pistone misses with a hook.
Hazardi lands a nice hook to Pistone's body. Pistone takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hazardi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hazardi. Pistone does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pistone getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Pistone throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pistone takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hazardi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pistone as he avoids it easily.
Joseph D Pistone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Azman Hazardi.

Pistone lands a jab to the nose.
Hazardi looks for a takedown but Pistone sprawls well.

Pistone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hazardi moves away.

and Hazardi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hazardi has closed the distance and engaged Pistone in a clinch.

Pistone tries to throw a body punch but Hazardi avoids it by throwing Pistone back against the cage.

Pistone is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A bit of stalling here from Hazardi.

Pistone lands a hook that snaps the head of Hazardi backwards.
Hazardi wants to take the fight to the mat but Pistone manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pistone is struggling to control the position.

Pistone stalls.
Pistone lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pistone.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Pistone avoiding damage.

Hazardi gets control of Pistone's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hazardi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pistone working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Hazardi looking for subs off his back but Pistone has passed one foot through into half guard.
Pistone winds up and cracks Hazardi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Pistone trying to control the action but Hazardi is working from the bottom.
Hazardi is looking to control Pistone's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hazardi avoid being mounted?
Hazardi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hazardi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pistone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pistone trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pistone won't allow Hazardi to sweep him here.

Pistone engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Pistone with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pistone looking to sit in guard and control but Hazardi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pistone is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joseph D Pistone will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Hazardi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hazardi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pistone but Pistone pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hazardi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hazardi looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hazardi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pistone is fending him off so far but Hazardi persists. Nope, Pistone circles away and we're back to standing.
Pistone connects with a body shot that sends Hazardi's belly button to the back.
Nice takedown defense from Pistone. No joy for Hazardi on that attempt.

Pistone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pistone pulls Hazardi in close to prevent any damage.
Pistone tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pistone lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hazardi!

Hazardi regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Pistone.
Hazardi wants to stand up but Pistone is controlling him.

Pistone avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pistone working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pistone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hazardi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pistone trying to control but Hazardi is working from the bottom.
Hazardi is trying to keep Pistone in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hazardi misses with a wild body shot.
Pistone throws a good cross that connects.

Hazardi keeping moving, preventing Pistone from controlling successfully.

Pistone is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hazardi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hazardi has escaped and now he's on top!

Pistone manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hazardi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pistone cracks Hazardi with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
