Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Sieve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Dumpleton!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sieve drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sieve stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dumpleton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dumpleton looking for a guillotine here but Sieve defends easily.

Dumpleton is looking for a triangle here but Sieve uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Dumpleton tries to improve position but can't.
Dumpleton wants to control but Sieve postures up.
Dumpleton is not content to let Sieve control the position.
Dumpleton is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dumpleton manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sieve's best efforts.
Dumpleton keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Dumpleton actively working from the bottom here.
Sieve is looking to advance position but Dumpleton won't allow it.
Dumpleton is looking to improve his position.
Sieve is taking a breather. Dumpleton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dumpleton regains full guard. Nicely done.

Dumpleton wants to sweep but no luck.
Sieve tries to free his leg and advance position but Dumpleton is retaining full guard.

Dumpleton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dumpleton working for a triangle but Sieve defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dumpleton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sieve can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sieve postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dumpleton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sieve not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sieve is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Sieve passes into side control, despite Dumpleton's attempt to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dumpleton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sieve swivels and escapes.

Sieve drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dumpleton is looking to reverse the position.
Dumpleton wants to control but Sieve postures up.
Joseph Dumpleton has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dumpleton tries to improve position but can't.
Sieve working away.
Dumpleton sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Sieve is trying to work for a kimura but Dumpleton is defending well.
Dumpleton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sieve's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sieve's back!

Dumpleton wants to control but Sieve is keeping busy.

Dumpleton working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
A lull in the action here.

Sieve is trying to defend against the choke here but Dumpleton has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Dumpleton Tightens the hold and Sieve taps out furiously! Dumpleton displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
