The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Smith misses.
Burns avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.

Burns decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Burns is working for a submission of some sort.
Burns is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Smith is holding on to half guard well.
Burns is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it.
Burns seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Burns is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Burns eventually gives up the hold.

It looks like Simba Burns has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burns seems to have recovered his senses.
