Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abekula Malelei! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Serg Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malelei walks into a straight right hand from Ramirez. Malelei rushes Ramirez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Malelei has Ramirez pressed against the cage, preventing Ramirez from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Malelei tries to pull guard but Ramirez holds him up against the cage and eventually Malelei drops back down to his feet.
Ramirez manages to break the clinch.
Donk. Malelei catches Ramirez right on the button with a cross. Malelei misses with an attempted mid kick.
Malelei tries to clinch up. A swing and a miss from Ramirez. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Malelei gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Malelei trying to land knees to the body.
Malelei jumps guard but Ramirez stands there with Malelei around his waist. Malelei gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ramirez wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ramirez is trying to force a seperation but Malelei has the dominant position. Ramirez manages to break the clinch.
Ramirez stuffs the takedown attempt from Malelei. Malelei gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abekula Malelei. That's going to take a lot out of him. Malelei uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ramirez.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malelei closes the distance and clinches. Ramirez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Malelei lands a takedown into guard.

Ramirez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Malelei will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Malelei won't allow Ramirez to get back to his feet. Malelei has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Malelei throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Malelei throws a right hand that Ramirez ducks under and follows up with a left that Ramirez also avoids with ease. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Malelei throws a head kick that misses. Malelei has a takedown stuffed. Ramirez throws a body punch but Malelei moves out of range. Ramirez looks to land a body kick but Malelei moved away. Malelei throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Malelei tries to clinch but Ramirez is having none of it. Ramirez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Malelei was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramirez. Ramirez punishes Malelei's body with a nice straight punch. Malelei is breathing heavily. Ramirez connects with a leg kick. Malelei looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Serg Ramirez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ramirez thows a body shot but no joy. Malelei shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramirez but Ramirez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jab from Ramirez.
It looks like Abekula Malelei has been cut. Sloppy strikes from Malelei. Those never looked like landing. Malelei is looking to clinch. Malelei fails with an attempt to clinch.
Abekula Malelei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Malelei tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ramirez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Malelei somewhat. Ramirez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Malelei throws a right and a left that Ramirez avoids nicely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Malelei ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malelei tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ramirez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ramirez lands with a kick to the ribs.
Malelei takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Ramirez lands a big uppercut and Malelei crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Malelei looks OK. Ramirez waves Malelei back to his feet!
Malelei is rocked! Malelei walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Malelei limp body while Ramirez jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Serg Ramirez! Serg Ramirez is the new super heavyweight champion! After winning the bout, Serg Ramirez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
