Herman's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Get ready to roll. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Herman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Nelson! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herman drives through with a takedown into Nelson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Nelson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Herman is aware though and is defending well. Herman looking to pass the guard. Nelson is looking for a triangle but Herman pushes his legs off easily.
Herman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nelson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Herman defends it easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nelson keeping moving, preventing Herman from controlling successfully. Nelson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Herman defends well. Nelson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Herman throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson has his foot on Herman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Herman works his way back into a safe position though. Herman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nelson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Herman has managed to get both his arms back between Nelson's legs - danger averted. Herman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Nelson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Herman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Herman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nelson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nelson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Herman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Nelson's body to avoid the submission. Nelson has instead reached around Herman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nelson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Cole Nelson! Cole Nelson took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
